How to use the classroom name picker
- Type or paste two or more different names, separated by line breaks or commas.
- Select Pick a name to choose someone randomly.
- Keep picking to give each person a turn. The tool automatically starts a new round after everyone is selected.
- Select Reset turns to restart with the same names.
Ideas for teachers
Use the picker to assign reading turns, select discussion leaders, call on volunteers, or choose classroom teams. Because a shuffled round runs without repeats, it can reduce accidental over-selection. For sensitive situations, allow students to pass and avoid putting personal information into public displays.

Frequently asked questions
Can a student be picked twice?
Not within the same round. After everyone gets a turn, the next selection starts a new round.
Are student names stored?
The picker runs in your browser and does not send your list to a game server. Lists are not saved by default. If a teacher chooses Save list on this device, the list remains in browser storage until deleted or browser data is cleared. Avoid saving student names on shared devices.
What if two students have the same first name?
Give each student a distinct label, such as Alex J and Alex S, so both names can be included in the draw.
Can I use group names or numbers instead of student names?
Yes. The picker can select any short labels you enter. Group names or assigned numbers may be more suitable when the result is shown on a shared classroom screen.
