Classroom activity ideas
Use a themed word scramble as a lesson starter, a vocabulary review, or a small-group activity. Ask learners to define each solved word, use it in a sentence, or explain how it relates to the lesson. For mixed-ability groups, allow partners to solve words together.
For printable vocabulary practice, use the free Word Search Generator to create a puzzle from your own words and print a teacher answer key.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add my own vocabulary?
Yes. Choose My own words and enter at least three different words using letters only. The game then chooses up to ten words for a round.
Does the game save my word list?
No. The game processes the list locally in your browser. Save your list separately if you want to reuse it in a later visit.
Can a class solve the scrambled words together?
Yes. Display each word on a shared screen and invite students to discuss possible answers before entering one.
How can I make the activity easier for beginning readers?
Choose short, familiar words from a recent lesson. Offer a spoken clue, model the first example, or let students work in pairs.
